What should we do if the inspection rate in Europe increases?

1、 Receive notification from DHL, FEDEX, and UPS:


As of March 1, 2023, all goods passing through or entering (EU), Switzerland, and Norway, regardless of the declared value of the goods, must provide a good, complete, detailed description, and the first six digits of the HS code.

1. HS CODE (Harmonized System code) with a minimum of 6 bits;

2. Accurately declare each product in the goods (including product name description, material, and purpose);

3. It is necessary to provide the recipient's VAT and EORI number (Economic Operator Registration and Identification);


The European Union currently has 27 member countries, including France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Denmark, Ireland, Greece, Portugal, Spain, Austria, Sweden, Finland, Malta, Cyprus, Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania, Bulgaria, and Croatia.


2、 There are two types of customs clearance in Europe:


Random routine random inspection: Generally, it is mainly based on VACIS EXAM (basic inspection)+CET (machine scanning inspection), such as the inspection of some customs clearance documents, the inspection of product labels, shipping marks, customs codes, brands, and the material and use of the product.


Special control and random inspection: The inspection is mainly focused on high tax products such as lamps, toys, and textile products. It is recommended that sellers declare truthfully to avoid losses caused by later inspections.

Please prepare for the inspection in advance and transport in batches to prevent the situation of no goods on the shelves due to the inspection, and ensure sufficient storage capacity.
